Track Name: A Mortal Ballad
death don't talk to me so menacing, your not quite so frightening as some might make you appear. you see, i'm not done with this thing we call life and until you rip the towel away and say my spirit's thine I am free.

so where's the monster that's waiting for me, hiding just behind the closet doors and just below the mattress springs? 'cause I still wait for you late in the night, and the shadows dance across the vacant floor but never seem to be alive.

i'm bigger than my demons 'cause my strength is ever weening. And broken is the state in which it seems I am equipped to conquer death.

oh i see. i've been all over time, space, and all in between on this journey through life's mysteries. through the clouds I have flown on the breeze singing soft winter things as I fell to my death struggling

but death don't talk to me so menacing, your not quite so frightening as some might make you appear. you see, i'm not done with this thing we call life and until you rip the towel away and say my spirit's thine I am free.
Track Name: The Storm & the Sea
here a voice was raised
here a song was sang in the middle of the night

you didn't shoot me down
though i'm on the ground
there is choice in this life though sometimes that's forgotten

and in school we are taught
to obey our desires but they lead us astray

can we chase our own dreams
can we break from the liar
there are clouds in the sky but the rain isn't coming.

but the children are not listening to the words sung my the churchyard chorus

and it's true we've neglected to learn from the faults of the ones who came before us

I have laughed with you,
we have smiled and sang. does that make this alright?

my emotions roar
they're beyond my control
is there choice in this life? oh it seems i've forgotten

take the sextant of hope
we must measure our bearings for we mustn't get lost

now the sunset is red
let the sailor rejoice
there are clouds in the sky but the storm isn't coming

but the children are not listening to the words sung my the churchyard chorus

and it's true we've neglected to learn from the faults of the ones who came before us

Let us raise our voice
let us sing our song
there is light that breaks the night

we can chase our own dreams
we can break from the liar
there are clouds in the sky but the storm isn't coming.
Track Name: The South
60 years is just to bold
a number that might steal your soul
and it just takes time…

you've been down this road before
for 30 years and 30 more
well you've never left

you grew up in the south
fighting life with your broken mouth
and your trusted gun

it's a simple life
for a simple man
and the city folk
won't understand….
but it is yours.

your children are all grown and gone
and your wife, she faded with the dawn
and your left alone

but what the hell do these people think
and what the hell do these people mean
when they say you're done?

you grew up in the south
fighting life with your broken mouth
and your trusted gun

it's a simple life
for a simple man
and the city folk
won't understand….
but it is yours.
Track Name: Nightingale Movement II
to say of one's self with beauty and doubt
that there are no words so fluidly spout
is to erase the message within
that we are still lovers though spotted with sin.

I know I'm not old but still I'm not free
for courage is lost in vain bravery
if there's an out it's that I can't see
and be this your lock then hand me the key

we're not alone, so take me by the hand
we'll compose a poem and some sort of plan
these veins still flow with warm precious life
as long as we stand, we'll stand and we'll fight
Track Name: Benjamin (Acoustic & Live)
rich old man, you've made all your plans.
can you say how long life will span?
there is now and that's all I can see
so live today what you've wanted to be.

poor young friend you've come to your end
and my heart on the air still depends
why should you be the one who would leave
when all I've shown has been enmity

you my brother you my friend
i've never known, but never can
what atrocity could bid
you to end while I begin?

Now is time for my mortality
I am real, I am flawed, I am me
I do know that I usually am wrong
but I have found me a place to belong

keep your friends at a distance
keep your love out of reach
this the thought that we visit
this is all that we teach
and my blood keeps on pumping
while there's no one to trust
but the heart that takes on water
is the one that always rusts

you my brother you my friend
i've never known, but never can
what atrocity could bid
you to end while I begin?
